Bradley County, Tenn. — The community came together under the night sky for the Light of Hope Moonlight Walk, an annual event held in memory of Melisha Gibson. The walk, hosted by Harbor Safe House & Advocacy Center and the Family Resource Agency, aimed to raise awareness about child abuse and domestic violence while honoring Gibson’s legacy.
Bradley County Sheriff Steve Lawson attended the event, joining residents, advocates, and local officials in a show of unity and remembrance. The walk served as both a solemn tribute and a call to action—highlighting the lasting impacts of abuse and the importance of community involvement in prevention and support efforts.
“Events like this remind us of our shared responsibility to protect the most vulnerable among us,” the Sheriff’s Office shared in a statement. “We stand with our community partners in promoting safety, awareness, and hope for a better tomorrow.”
The Light of Hope Moonlight Walk continues to serve as a meaningful reminder of the lives affected by violence and the strength found when communities come together to create change.
