BRADLEY COUNTY, TN – The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office said earlier this month that they had been made aware the a new scam has been going around the area.
“It has been brought to our attention that an unknown individual is using BCSO Chief Brian Smith’s name and telephone number to call and request banking information,” announced the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office. “The scammer is claiming to assist in purchasing a security system that protects against computer viruses. This activity is a SCAM. Please do NOT share personal information to uncredited sources over the phone!”
The Sheriff’s Office announced that they are continuing to have issues with this local scammer and they have also become aware that the scammer is also using ‘former BCSO deputies’ names and telephone numbers’ to scam citizens.
Bradley County Sheriff’s Office asked that citizens remain alert and cautious to this scam.
